As of February 20th, the average market price in East China was 12850 RMB/ton, and on February 17th, the average price was 14,400 RMB/ton. It fell 10.76% within the week and 25.72% year-on-year.

Analysis review

This week, the TDI market fell from a high level and experienced a broad decline. There have been frequent price adjustments in factories during the week, with the latest TDI execution price of 13,550 RMB/ton for a large factory in Shanghai, a decrease of 400 RMB/ton compared to the previous period. The willingness of intermediaries to sell goods has increased, and the focus of transactions continued to decline. The market atmosphere was quiet, with a buy up not buy down atmosphere, there wefre many inquiries and limited transactions.

Supply side: The TDI unit of Xinjiang Juli was temporarily shut down, while other units were maintaining medium to high load operation, and the market supply was filling up quickly.

Cost side: Upstream toluene has been operating steadily recently, with overall trading being relatively quiet and consolidating sideways.

The TDI data analyst from SunSirs believes that the TDI price has fallen to a low level, and downstream purchasing intentions have increased. If demand significantly rebounds, it is expected that the TDI market will stop falling and stabilize in the short term.
